The purpose of the meeting is to discuss proposed changes to the State's Web Site Accessibility Policy.

Meeting Minutes

Attendees:

A proposal was made to add an additional requirement to the policy - for very large documents (definition of the word "large" TBD), that a digest or Table of contents be created to make the documents easier to navigate and information easier to get to. The Working Group will discuss this at their next meeting.

Question: Is this similar to WCAG 2.0 Guideline 2.4 Provide mechanisms to help users find content, orient themselves within it, and navigate through it?

A question was asked about archiving - is there a state policy for archiving and retaining web documents, similar to "Electronic And Voice Mail A Management And Retention Guide For State And Municipal Government Agencies". Steve Johnson is going to contact the Public Records Administrator at the Connecticut State Library. We are also going to research what policies and procedures the US Federal Government has in place.
